Four out of ten children in Romania are living in poverty or social deprivation, according to the 2019 European Semester Country Report. In fact, Romania has the highest poverty rate in the European Union.
Romania also has a long history of poor families who cannot afford to care for their children, surrendering them to government institutions. Although the EU is requiring that those institutions be closed by the end of 2021, the Romanian government has no place for many of those children to go.
But Reach Romania can help these children in need! Casa Linda, our Christian children’s home in Lugoj, already is housing several children, from the local placement center—and the Child Welfare Agency in Timis County has asked if we could care for even more.
We can—with your support! By refinishing some unused space in Casa Linda, we can increase our capacity to house and care for 10 to 12 more children. A possibility of adding additional cottages on the property would expand our capacity further!
Your faithful giving to Reach Romania is already providing the children in Casa Linda with a safe, loving, Christ-centered home. There they receive nutritious meals, education, clothing, and spiritual and emotional support. With your help, we can assure that every boy and girl in our care now and to come experiences what everyone deserves: a childhood of full of love and joy.
